Artificial Turf Installation Services
Every property is different, so we start by understanding how the space will be used. From residential yards to high-traffic school campuses and commercial properties, we design and install artificial turf systems built for Arizona.
- Residential Lawns. Enjoy a green, finished yard year-round without mowing, fertilizing, or routine irrigation. Artificial turf eliminates the ongoing watering required to maintain a natural lawn.
- Pet Turf. Pet-friendly turf systems designed for fast drainage, easier cleanup, odor control, and everyday use. Permeable backing and pet-focused infill options, including antimicrobial infill, make these systems ideal for backyards, dog runs, kennels, and commercial pet facilities.
- Putting Greens. Custom designed for the way you play, from backyard practice greens and chipping areas to indoor greens, rooftops, clubhouses, and complete short-game complexes.
- Playgrounds. Padded turf systems designed around applicable fall-height requirements. These systems create a consistent play surface without displaced wood chips, muddy areas, or worn dirt.
- Schools and School Districts. Durable artificial turf solutions for courtyards, amphitheaters, playgrounds, outdoor classrooms, athletic areas, student gathering spaces, and other high-use, heavy-traffic campus environments. Arizona Turf Masters has served more than 31 Arizona schools and counting, installing surfaces built for daily student use, demanding foot traffic, and Arizona weather while reducing routine irrigation and mowing.
- Commercial and HOA Communities. Artificial turf for common areas, office campuses, multifamily properties, amenity spaces, rooftop areas, community entrances, and other shared environments. We help property owners, managers, and HOA boards select systems that meet performance goals, maintenance expectations, and community design standards.
We also handle the rest of the yard: hardscape, xeriscape, pavers, and pergolas.
Trusted by Arizona schools. We have completed projects at more than 31 Arizona schools, and school business officials may recognize our team through our participation in Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO) events.
Why Arizona Chooses Turf Masters
We will be straight with you. Artificial turf costs more upfront than seed or sod, and it gets warm in full summer sun. What you get back is a yard that looks good in January and July, no water bill for the lawn, and no maintenance beyond an occasional rinse. Expect 10 to 15 years from quality turf on a proper base — warranties depend on the product you choose. We can say that from experience: we have turf we installed 20 years ago that’s still down. Premium products with warranties up to 25 years are available as specialty orders. And we’ll install any product — if you’ve found one you like, we can install it.

Straight Answers About Artificial Turf in Arizona
How much does artificial turf installation cost in Phoenix?
Most artificial turf installations in the Phoenix area, including pet turf systems, run $6.00 to $12.00 per square foot installed, depending on the turf product, infill, the base work your yard needs, and access. Minimums do apply. We give free written estimates, so you will know your number before any work starts.
Does artificial turf get too hot for dogs in the Arizona summer?
Turf does get warm in full sun, and we will not tell you otherwise. A quick rinse cools it fast, lighter face colors and shade help, and infill choice matters. Most dogs simply use shaded areas in peak afternoon heat, the same way they avoid hot pavement.
How long does artificial turf last in Arizona?
Expect 10 to 15 years from quality turf on a properly compacted base — warranties depend on the product, and we have turf we installed 20 years ago that’s still down. Premium products with warranties up to 25 years are available as specialty orders. UV-stabilized fibers are what protect against our sun. Our products carry manufacturer warranties of 10 to 15 years, and the base work underneath is what determines whether it stays flat and drains right.
How much water does artificial turf save?
A Bermuda lawn with winter overseeding in the Phoenix area can require more than 55 inches of water annually, and more than 40 inches even without overseeding. Artificial turf eliminates routine lawn irrigation. Many Arizona cities also offer grass-removal rebates for converting lawn to turf or xeriscape.
Can my HOA stop me from installing artificial turf?
In most established communities, no. Arizona law (A.R.S. 33-1819) limits the ability of many HOAs to prohibit artificial turf where natural grass is permitted. Associations can still apply reasonable design, location, and maintenance standards, so check your community guidelines. We work with HOA approval processes every week and can help with yours.
How long does installation take?
Most residential installs take 1 to 3 days. Demo of the old lawn, base prep and compaction, seaming, securing edges, and infill. Base prep is most of the work, and it is the part that decides how good the yard looks in year ten.
Can I get a rebate for removing my natural grass?
Often, yes. Most Valley cities and Tucson pay property owners to remove thirsty natural grass — commonly $0.50 to $2.00 per square foot for homes, with caps that vary by city, and larger programs on the commercial side. Two straight answers about the fine print: nearly every program requires pre-approval before you touch the grass, and most are grass-to-xeriscape rebates that require living desert landscaping as the replacement — many do not count artificial turf toward the rebate. Rules and funding change season to season, so check your city’s current program:
Phoenix • Scottsdale • Mesa • Tempe • Chandler • Gilbert • Glendale • Peoria • Tucson
Many of our customers pair the two: use the city rebate to convert part of the yard to desert landscaping, and put artificial turf where they want usable green space — no water, no mowing, green all year. Planning a project? We’ll walk it through what your city allows.
